We are looking for several positions to be filled:


Membership Chair  


Talks to classrooms and professors about how other students can be a part of KDP. They also take care of the application process for new members.  


Tutoring Coordinator  



Communicate with area schools and work with Project Knowledge to place UWSP tutors into area schools



  • Receive and record all initiate documents


  • Keep accurate records of chapter funds

  • Complete the financial section of the annual report


  • Access university funding



  • Coordinate the budget preparation process

  • Assist the Co-Presidents, President-Elect, Program Committee, and Foundation Representative in developing fund-raisers.



    *NEW*Incentive Program

    KDP would like to introduce you to the new Incentive Program. This program will reward you for participating in KDP events.

    How this works is that you will need to volunteer for 3 events, and serve on 1 committee throughout the semester. Every event that is put on through KDP we will have a sign in sheet, that way we can keep track of the events you took part of!

    At the end of the semester we will put everyone's name in a drawing for a $15 dollar Starbucks gift card!! We are hoping that you will get involved and that you will love being a part of KDP!



    Requirements for KDP



    ​​1. The initiate must have an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher for all course work completed by the end of the semester.​​ 
    ​​2. The initiate must have a letter of recommendation from a UWSP faculty member.
    3. The initiate have completed 30 hours of collegiate course work. 
    4. The initiate have at least 12 credit hours in education course work completed, programmed, or in progress of the current semester.​​
    Kappa Delta Pi-Pi Epsilon Chapter is brainstorming ideas to present at the Biennial Convocation, the National KDP Conference. The conference is on October 24-26 of 2013 in Dallas, Texas. 
    The theme for the conference is 
    "Connecting in a Big Way."

    Spring Involvement Fair

    When: Wednesday February 13th, 2013

    @ 6:00-8:00pm

    On March 13th, 2013, the School of Education hosts a colloquium for UWSP education majors. The event usually involves one or more speakers and/or breakout sessions. This year’s theme is Career Boot Camp.”

     Planning for the event is a joint effort between the four students organizations: the Student Wisconsin Education Association (StWEA), the Association for Education of Young Children (AEYC), the Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC), and Kappa Delta Pi (KDP).

    Science Extravaganza!!

    When: March 9th @ 10:00-2:30pm

    Where: SPASH

    This exciting science event provides hands-on science activities for youth! The event has a science discovery learning center and 2 main stage shows typically held at 10:00am and another at 1:30pm. These shows are educational entertainment for children! In the past they have had Chemistry shows, Nature Niche Rainforest show, Raptor shows, and physics shows. Students conduct the remainder of the activities.

    Come help out with this intriguing science experience! It would be a great addition to your resume!

    Literacy Alive




    When: March 11th @ 4:00-6:00pm


    Where: Bannach Elementary School library

    Literacy Alive is a program allows KDP chapters
    to get out and get involved with the community and 
    local schools. The mission is to encourage children to 
    read well and read often. KDP sponsors the event at 
    the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum,
     local schools, or a YMCA. This year's theme is
    “Reading is a Hoot!” Literacy Alive is a program
    that invites elementary school students and their 
    families to come and read stories with KD
    volunteers. The students and families will
     also have the opportunity to make crafts 
    relevant to the theme.

    Mock Interviews

    Get an authentic interview experience with local administrators, principals, and other interview staff during Mock Interviews in April 2013! When you are not in your interview join Career Services for résumé help. Don't forget to stick around for our interview panel at the end of the night and learn more about the interview process and what administrators expect.

    The Stevens Point chapter of KDP aims to provide resources and support that meets the needs of teachers. Our goal is to facilitate the continuous development of educators, both personally and professionally.
